Which Products Require FDA?



The general Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates a large number of products like:

  • Foods meant for humans and animals (animal feed and human foods including color additives, chemicals that come into contact with food to ensure they do not pose a health risk in migration, bottled water, infant formulas, and dietary supplements)

  • Drugs for humans and animals (prescribed and over-the-counter medications)

  • Medical devices for humans (bandages, contact lenses, first aid kits, surgical instruments, dental devices, etc.)

  • Vaccines or biologics (blood, human tissue, human plasma, embryos, devices used to store blood, allergenics, cellular and gene therapy products, etc.) 

  • Cosmetics (shampoo, make-up, skincare, extensions, nail polish, etc.)

  • Electronic products emitting radiation (microwaves, x-rays, laser pointers, ultrasound therapy devices, etc.)
