Updated Global Guidance for International Mail

Beginning on June 24, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) permanently ended the rule that allowed international mail packages worth $800 or less to enter the U.S. without going through the normal customs process. Starting July 24, 2026, these packages must follow a new postal informal entry process, which generally applies to mailed goods valued at $2,500 or less. The new guidance explains who can use this process, what information must be submitted and any required payments or deadlines.
